Let's Buff Those Bones

According to the NHS, over 3 million people in the UK are affected by osteoporosis and more than 500,000 people receive hospital treatment for fragility fractures every year as a result of osteoporosis. Whilst that can make someone diagnosed with osteoporosis stop exercising, the right sort of exercise with a qualified instructor is recommended.

The award-winning, medically-endorsed Buff Bones® workout for bone and joint health is now available in Suffolk. The exercise system uses varied and specific bone-strengthening and balance techniques for a safe option for people with osteoporosis and arthritis.

Buff Bones was founded by bone health and exercise expert Rebekah Rotstein who was diagnosed with osteoporosis when she was only 28. She found that people with osteoporosis and its precursor osteopenia didn’t always know what type of exercise was helpful and safe for them.

“The Buff Bones system is based on a research-supported design and combines Pilates, strength training, functional movement and therapeutic exercise,” says Rotstein. “It also uses techniques to align the joints, enhance posture and balance and prepare the body for optimal loading of the bones, which is how they strengthen. I recommend the Buff Bones system for anyone who has osteoporosis or wants to prevent it."

Buff Bones workouts are fun and challenging. They work on balance and strength techniques that are safe for people with osteoporosis and arthritis. Former US Surgeon General Richard Carmona MD, described Buff Bones as “an excellent resource to continue to improve America’s bone health”. From its beginning in the US, this exercise program has gained hugely in popularity and is now global.
